We are thrilled to share some fantastic news showcasing the exceptional extracurricular talents of our student, Yann A!
Yann has recently been appointed as a community reporter and photojournalist for the West Leeds Dispatch, an esteemed local community newspaper run by dedicated volunteers under the guidance and editorship of former Guardian journalist John Baron.
Taking on a role that requires creativity, dedication, and a sharp eye for detail, Yann has already made a significant impression. Editor John Baron praised his early contributions, noting:
"Yann is one of our youngest ever reporters. We congratulate him on some excellent photos. He's clearly talented and already showing skill and confidence."
In addition to his appointment, Yann was recently named a prize winner at the newspaper for a standout photograph he captured during the Kirkstall Festival in July (pictured below). His work brilliantly captures the spirit, energy, and warmth of the local community across various major events.
