Guiseley School is thrilled to announce that we have officially been granted the Red Kite Alliance RED Award. This significant achievement recognises our ongoing commitment to embedding a culture of respect, equality, and diversity across every level of our school community.

The RED Award is a testament to the dedication of our staff and students in championing equality and celebrating the diverse backgrounds that make our school unique. To secure this accreditation, the school underwent a rigorous assessment process, including the creation of a comprehensive evidence portfolio that showcased the real-world impact of our inclusion initiatives over an extended period. The assessor noted that our application was especially impressive, specifically highlighting our dedication to evaluating the success of our actions and ensuring they make a tangible difference in the lives of our students.
Reflecting on the achievement, Hannah Ogden said: "It has been a privilege to be able to present the fantastic work our staff, students and wider school community do to promote our culture of Respect, Equality and Diversity here at Guiseley School. We are thrilled to have been given the RED Award in recognition of this, and look forward to continuing to keep RED at the heart of the work we do here."
Equalities Governor Ali Hodrien also shared their pride in the school's accomplishment, stating: "We are delighted to receive the RED Award as acknowledgement of our work to promote Respect, Equality and Diversity at Guiseley School on a daily basis. Miss Ogden and her team worked very hard to pull together a high-quality evidence portfolio, showcasing our inclusive approach to education, and highlighting the impact that this has on our students and the wider school community. As Equalities Governor, I'm very proud to see this piece of work come to fruition, and look forward to us sharing this success with the wider staff body - using it to motivate and inspire further progress in this key area."
The school has already begun celebrating this success, having recently welcomed Sue Lewis, Director of the Red Kite Alliance, to the school to officially present us with our commemorative wall plaque and certificate.
Congratulations to the entire Guiseley School community. This award belongs to every student and staff member who works daily to ensure our school remains a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive place to learn.
