In the final week before the October half term, thirty-four pupils from Guiseley School set off on a memorable journey to southern Spain, immersing themselves in the vibrant culture and history of Seville and Granada.
After a smooth flight, the group wasted no time diving into the sights. Day one featured visits to the breathtaking Plaza de España and the tranquil Parque María Luisa, followed by a taste of local cuisine including the refreshing Andalusian cold soup, Salmorejo.
Midweek, the pupils travelled to the historic city of Granada where they explored the world-famous Alhambra, a stunning palace and fortress that stands as one of Andalusia’s most treasured landmarks.
Cultural Highlights
The itinerary was packed with enriching experiences, giving students a deep dive into Spanish traditions and lifestyle. Activities included:
- A tour of the Sevilla FC Stadium
- A lively flamenco class and museum visit
- A hands-on paella-making session
- Exploring the majestic Catedral de Sevilla and La Giralda
- A visit to the historic bull ring
- An evening of excitement at Isla Mágica theme park
