13th March 2023, Four students from Years 7 and 9 took part in the Yorkshire heat of the National Reading Champions Quiz which was online.
They competed against private and state schools from all over the Yorkshire region. There was only one point in the difference between 1st and 2nd place and Guiseley's reading team won. Congratulations and well done to Rosie, Elin, Elizabeth and Arthur. The group receive book tokens for winning the heat and school receives a trophy to celebrate winning the heat. They now have a place in the final which will take place in London on the 6th June, where they will compete against the winners of the other regional heats from all over the UK.
The students that took part were Elizabeth Salmon, Rosie and Arthur Wilkinson and Elin Liddle.
