We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate an outstanding sporting achievement from one of our own. Evie A (Year 7) has officially been selected to compete at the prestigious English National Summer Meet - Swim England’s biggest domestic swimming event of the year!
Earning a spot at this elite level is a massive achievement that reflects years of intense training, early mornings, and incredible dedication. Evie secured her place by ranking among the top swimmers in the entire country after a series of stellar performances during the recent qualifying window. Notably, she was also crowned the North East England Champion in her age group for both the 50m and 100m backstroke events.
What makes Evie’s achievement even more remarkable is her age. At just 12 years old, she will be one of the youngest swimmers at the competition, stepping up to compete against older athletes in the 13-year-old (and potentially 13/14-year-old) categories.
"We are so proud of Evie and this outstanding achievement," said her family. "She has truly outdone herself, and we are very happy that the school is celebrating her success."
